Big Walk released on August 4, 2026 for Steam (Windows and Mac), PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. You can also buy and play it on Mac through the Mac App Store as a separate purchase.
The game was also included in August 2026's PlayStation Plus Essential Monthly Games lineup. PS Plus Essential members can claim Big Walk at no extra cost during August 2026 and keep playing as long as their subscription stays active.
Xbox is the one major platform where Big Walk is not available. House House has not announced any plans for an Xbox port, so Xbox owners currently have no official way to play.
How Much Does Big Walk Cost?
Big Walk launched at a standard price of $19.99 USD across all platforms. Nintendo and Steam both offered a limited-time 25% launch discount, bringing the price down to $14.99 during the launch window.
Other platforms launched at the full $19.99 price with no discount. Regional pricing may vary, and the launch discount on Steam and Nintendo has since ended — always check the store for the current live price.
PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can play Big Walk at no additional cost by claiming it as one of August 2026's Monthly Games, as long as their PS Plus subscription remains active.
Does Big Walk Have Crossplay?
Yes, Big Walk is fully cross-platform. You can play with friends on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 without anyone needing to be on the same platform.
Crossplay works through Join Codes. The host generates a Join Code and shares it with friends, who then use the code to join the same session regardless of which platform they are playing on.
This means a PC player, a PS5 player and a Switch 2 player can all explore the world together in the same session. There are no platform restrictions on who can join a game.
How Many Players Can Play Big Walk Together?
Big Walk supports 2 to 12 players in cooperative multiplayer. When launching a session you choose between a 2-Player, 3-Player or 4+ Player session, and each mode balances the game differently.
You can always start a new session to change the player balancing for a particular save file. The session type affects how puzzles and challenges scale, so larger groups get a different experience than smaller ones.
While you can load into the game on your own, you cannot solve puzzles or make progress solo. Every puzzle in Big Walk is designed for cooperation, so at least one friend is needed to move forward.
Can I Play Big Walk in Couch Co-Op or Splitscreen?
No, Big Walk does not support couch co-op or splitscreen play. The game is built around online co-op and does not offer any local multiplayer option.
Big Walk encourages in-game proximity voice and text chat when playing with friends online. The developers designed the experience around online communication, which would not translate well to a shared-screen couch setup.
If you want to play with someone in the same room, each person needs their own device and their own copy of the game, then joins the session online via a Join Code just like any other remote player.
Is There a Map in Big Walk?
Yes, maps and navigation tools exist in Big Walk, but they are not available from the start. You need to progress through the game first before finding them in the world.
This means early exploration is intentionally done without a map, encouraging you to pay attention to landmarks and communicate with friends about where you are and where you are heading.
Once you find maps and navigation tools, they make it easier to coordinate routes, locate collectibles and plan exploration across the world. The exact location where maps appear is part of the discovery experience.
